AGM Named Scholarships

Taylor Morton Memorial Scholarship

Taylor Morton lived his life as a passionate learner, forever curious, forever willing to follow a question as far as it would take him. His interests were wide and varied, and whatever caught his attention, he pursued with genuine depth. He was an engineer on the Product Innovation Team at PING, though his path in golf began years earlier on the sales floor of the Haggin Oaks Golf Super Shop in Sacramento, CA, where he sold golf equipment as a teenager and a college student. He grew from selling clubs to helping design them, a journey powered by his love of learning and his steady, determined drive.

Beyond his work, Taylor loved the outdoors and everything it offered. Overlanding, camping, backpacking, fishing, and hiking. He loved tinkering on his vehicles, and most of all, he loved his family, who counted him not only as a son and a brother but as one of their very best friends.

What set Taylor apart was his perseverance. He met every challenge with curiosity and resolve, never losing his enthusiasm for the next thing to learn, build, or explore. The Taylor Morton Memorial Scholarship honors that spirit by supporting students who pursue knowledge with genuine curiosity and meet their goals with the same determination that defined Taylor’s life. Through this scholarship, his drive to learn and to keep going lives on in the next generation of golf merchandising talent.

Ann Marquardt Memorial Scholarship

Ann Marquardt’s legacy is deeply interwoven with the fabric of AGM. As one of the first 50 members and a former president, Ann’s leadership and vision were instrumental in shaping our organization. Her dedication to AGM’s mission and her commitment to serving our community set a high standard for all who followed.

The Ann Marquardt Memorial Scholarship serves as a tribute to Ann’s remarkable contributions and her unwavering belief in the power of education. By supporting students who demonstrate leadership, dedication, and a commitment to community service, this scholarship perpetuates Ann’s passion for making a difference and her role as a guiding light within AGM.

Kimberly J. Clapp Memorial Scholarship

Kimberly J. Clapp was a passionate believer and activist in the cause of educating disabled students utilizing curriculum, environment, structure and teaching techniques designed to bring out their best not only at school but post-school in the arena of life.

After her son Nathan was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder just before age 6, Kim procured an expert parent-teacher advocate to represent her and Nathan at his school curriculum and IEP planning sessions. She was moved by the expert’s compassion and commitment regarding advocating on behalf of Nathan and was inspired to give back. She mentored under this expert and further educated herself regarding parents and their special needs students rights, and became extremely knowledgeable regarding the application of intervention speech therapy, physical therapy, and social interaction therapy. In her ensuing role as a parent-teacher advocate representing other parents in curriculum and IEP planning meetings, she emphasized including those ingredients within a student’s curriculum content while being mindful of the pace of instruction.

She believed in the value of education regardless of one’s disability, and particularly vocational training. Kim believed in fostering an environment of education and training intended to produce a valued, contributing, and high self-esteem community participant. She felt it was not just her parental duty, but a mission on behalf of the special needs community to emphasize these elements in meetings with school administrators and teachers.

A perpetually curious and inquisitive person, she was a voracious reader and active member of book clubs, and a Podcast fan. While focusing on her special needs parent-teacher advocate role, and Nathan’s complex special needs roadmap she also managed the family household and finances, empowering her husband Lee to pursue and develop his career in the golf industry. Beyond her assuming those responsibilities he would be the first to say he relied on her compassionate demeanor, wise counsel, and long-term view to elevate his contributions in the golf business.

As the reader may already suspect, she had a talent for organizing and staying organized, and those personal traits were invaluable in assisting him in managing his roles and responsibilities.

We recognize her special needs community engagement, her devotion as a parent and spouse and her passion for learning and growing.

Multi-talented, multi-focused & multitasking, she serves as an inspiration for all those whose heart steers them toward advocating for the education of the less gifted amongst us.

Megan Ryan Memorial Scholarship

Megan Ryan was a beacon of warmth and kindness, remembered fondly by all who were lucky enough to cross her path. Despite her young age, Megan’s resilience in the face of adversity and her boundless compassion set her apart. The daughter of Darcy Lyberger, a dedicated AGM member, Megan’s life was a testament to the power of connection and empathy. She lived her 18 years with the kind of grace and care for others that most aspire to achieve in a lifetime.

The Megan Ryan Memorial Scholarship honors Megan’s memory by supporting students who embody her spirit of kindness, her ability to connect deeply with others, and her genuine desire to make the world a better place. Through this scholarship, Megan’s light continues to shine, encouraging recipients to carry forward her legacy of love and compassion.
