AGM: What inspired the founding of your company?

JD: Growing up in Ireland, my brothers and I were always out golfing and fishing. Even after moving to the United States, our love for the greens and waters became a natural part of our daily lives. As I traveled, I realized that our interests resonated with people far and wide. Despite the apparent contrast between these two pastimes, I observed striking similarities in the ambiance of marinas and clubhouses. Thus, Golfish, blending “golf” and “fish,” was born from our shared upbringing.

AGM: What sets your golf products apart from competitors?

JD: What distinguishes us from other companies is our unique approach to seamlessly integrating both lifestyles. Whether you’re on the golf course or out on the water, our products are meticulously crafted to provide comfort and versatility, facilitating effortless transitions between activities.

AGM: What partnerships or collaborations are you most proud of?

JD: We’re thrilled to partner with Christopher Petefish, currently on the Korn Ferry Tour, and other promising golfers such as Corey Gendreau. Additionally, we’re developing a brand ambassador program for high school golfers, offering an exciting opportunity for young talents to represent our brand.

AGM: Can you share an example of how your products have evolved over time?

JD: Our journey began with selling belts, and organically expanded to include apparel tailored to suit both lifestyles.

AGM: Can you talk about a product that didn’t go as planned and what you learned from it?

G: Despite our efforts, a few products didn’t make it to launch due to issues like sizing discrepancies or zipper performance falling short of our high standards. We firmly believe that attention to detail is paramount in everything we do.

AGM: How do you balance tradition and innovation in your golf apparel designs?

JD: At Golfish, balancing tradition and innovation in apparel designs that cater to both golfing and boating involves a meticulous approach. We honor tradition by incorporating timeless elements such as classic cuts, high-quality materials, and refined detailing that reflect the heritage of both sports. At the same time, we embrace innovation by integrating advanced performance fabrics, modern silhouettes, and functional features tailored to the specific needs of each activity.
