Apogee is the only private club of its kind. With 54 holes of golf, an esteemed membership, and world-class amenities, Apogee is redefining luxury. Our retail operation currently consists of two high-volume golf shops but will expand to include several other outlets as our Club grows. Job Summary:
The Assistant Merchandiser plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of Apogee retail. This position will assist the Retail Experience Manager in all aspects of delivering a retail program on par with the Apogee brand. This includes but is not limited to: collaborating with the professional staff to meet the day-to-day needs of the golf shop, maintaining an organized and appealing sales floor, and fostering a welcoming environment for our members and guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
- Work closely with the Retail Experience Manager in all aspects of Apogee Retail
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor
- Collaborate with the retail team to create attractive product displays
- Assist in the management of the special-order program
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to management
- Assist members and guests in selecting golf equipment, apparel, and accessories
- Process transactions accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems and handle cash transactions
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and offering product recommendations
- Stay informed about new products, trends, and technologies in the golf industry
- Follow Club policies and procedures regarding sales, refunds, and exchanges
- Assist with special events and tournaments hosted by the Club
- Attend conferences, workshops, meetings, and trade shows to keep abreast of marketing and business trends
Job Requirements include the following, but are not limited to:
- Experience in retail operations including displays, promotions, inventory management and theft prevention. Preferably in golf or sporting goods
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills
- Willingness to be a positive representative of the Apogee brand
- Self-motivated with desire to promote and market
- Service-oriented mindset
- Fundamental knowledge of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories
- Experienced in written and oral business communications
- Remain up to date on customer relationship management tactics and strategies
- Experienced computer user including POS systems, Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, internet, tournament, and database.
