Job Description

The objective of the golf shop retail associate is to support the Buyer/Merchandiser’s direction of the overall retail efforts by maintaining the merchandise mix, and inventory levels, maximizing sales, and upholding a quality reputation and a superior service atmosphere.

Responsibilities

·    Customer service: ensuring excellent customer service by implementing and maintaining high standards, addressing customer concerns, and creating a positive retail experience.

·    Special orders: placing and maintaining member special orders. Utilizing Golf Shop Genius as a resource to create a positive member ordering experience.

·   Golf shop: assist members and guests by facilitating sales and providing the utmost customer service. Ensuring workspace and golf shop are well maintained, clean, organized, and restocked throughout each work day. Initiate the restocking of merchandise and conduct inventories when directed.

·   Visual merchandising: assist buyer with maintaining inventory levels and corroborating the availability of merchandise, executing and maintaining visual presentations and pricing strategies, and developing strategies to maximize business profitability and performance.

·   Sales performance: Promote daily floor sales and customer relations for the membership and staff. Professionally sell merchandise. Anticipate needs and offer appropriate merchandise solutions. Know product features and benefits to promote selling. Familiarize yourself with product lines and merchandise. Be able to answer specific questions regarding apparel and equipment lines. Including but not limited to – availability, sizing, fit, fabrication, etc. Be aware of daily and monthly sales goals.

·    Golf: Familiarize yourself with club events, procedures, and activities and be able to assist with any related questions. Assist with the daily billing of the tee sheet and booking tee times. Answer the phones and appropriately troubleshoot questions for members and guests.

Experience

Candidate must have prior knowledge and experience in the golf industry. This includes but is not limited to, equipment, retail operations, tournament operations, and knowledge of golf-specific merchandise. Previous retail experience is a plus.
