At Northwood Club, we have a large team that delivers the Northwood Experience to a large and active membership. We facilitate approximately 30,000 rounds per year, and we stay very busy with innovative Junior Development Programs, Member Tournaments. The Award-Winning Golf Shop is well supported by our membership and will do over $1,600,000 in sales annually.

Northwood Club is a premier country club established in 1946 and located in Dallas, Texas, best known for hosting the 1952 U.S. Open. The newly renovated Championship Golf Course was named #1 Best Golf Course Renovation 2019 in Avid Golfer Magazine and recognized as the Best Overall Country Club in DFW for 2021, 2022 and 2023. The club also has a Distinguished Clubs of the World Emerald Designation for outstanding member service.

About the Position

We are looking for someone to take over the lead role for our long time (29 year) Director of Retail, Katrina Dornseifer. Katrina will stay on board in a part time role and assist this person through the transition.

We are looking for a creative and outgoing individual for this position. This energetic individual will be a full-time team member and will become responsible for managing the retail experience.

Experience Preferences

  • 4 Year Degree
  •  Experience in developing & managing a buy-plan
  • Knowledgeable & proficient with all Social Media outlets and email communication methods
  • Experience with various Point of Sale and Inventory Control Systems and procedures
  • History of delivering Unreasonable Hospitality experiences

Essential Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in delivering the Northwood Experience through the Golf Shop and Retail Operation
  • Develop and maintain a buy plan for all golf products
  • Manage proper inventory levels throughout the year
  • Manage the input and processing of all invoices for soft goods and accessories
  • Be visible and interact with members throughout each day
  • Develop and implement a plan for creating product awareness through trendy Social Media posts and thoughtful email campaigns
  • Manage Golf Shop appearance with appealing displays
  • Create plans for growing corporate order business
  • Assist Director of Golf with training and mentoring golf staff to improve their professional development in the merchandise operation


  • Learn Individual member’s names, needs, and preferences; deliver and exceed their expectations
  • Be knowledgeable of club activities and rules, and be available to advise in detail as questions arise
  • Be driven to learn all aspects of the golf operate, always seeking to learn new methods and programs that will help enhance the experience that we deliver
  • Handle tasks with a sense of urgency regardless of what is going on

Knowledge, Skills and Traits:

  • Experience working as part of a Team. Someone who puts their team first.
  • Fundamental knowledge of fashion merchandising and buy plan development for Private Country Clubs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive Attitude

Reports to:

  • Director of Golf

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation will consist of base pay and commissions. Total compensation will be commensurate with experience and will be competitive for an operation doing more than $1,600,000 in sales annually
