Golf Buyer and Merchandiser
A Buyer and Merchandiser is responsible for selecting and purchasing products for retail or wholesale businesses and ensuring these products are displayed and marketed effectively. This role involves analyzing trends, managing inventory, and negotiating with suppliers to meet customer demands while maximizing profitability. The Buyer and Merchandiser role is pivotal in ensuring that businesses meet customer demands while maximizing profitability through smart purchasing decisions and effective product management.
Purchasing and Buying
- Product Selection: Research and identify new products based on market trends, customer preferences, and business goals.
- Supplier Negotiations: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate product prices, delivery schedules, and terms.
- Stock Planning: Determine the quantity and type of products to be ordered based on sales forecasts, historical data, and market trends.
- Budget Management: Adhere to budgetary constraints while ensuring product quality and selection meet customer expectations.
Merchandising
- Product Display: Ensure that products are displayed in a visually appealing manner, following the brand’s guidelines and in-store layout.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, track sales, and manage inventory to ensure optimal stock turnover.
- Sales Analysis: Track product performance, analyze sales data, and adjust buying decisions based on product popularity and profitability.
- Pricing Strategy: Work with the marketing and finance teams to set competitive prices that align with the market and maximize profitability.
Market Research and Trends
- Trend Forecasting: Stay informed about industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor strategies to anticipate demand.
- Consumer Insights: Use market research and customer feedback to make informed buying decisions.
Collaboration
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, and logistics teams to ensure a consistent and effective product offering.
- Vendor Relationships: Maintain communication with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, resolve issues, and ensure quality control.
Reporting and Analysis
- Sales Performance Reporting: Track and report on sales performance, identifying key metrics for growth.
- Budget and Profitability Tracking: Report on the budget, profit margins, and sales forecasts to ensure financial targets are met.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiating skills for working with suppliers and securing favorable terms.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with vendors, internal teams, and management.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to manage large amounts of data and ensure that every detail, from inventory to product display, is accounted for.
- Creative Vision: Strong understanding of product presentation, with the ability to create attractive and functional merchandising displays.
- Project Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Education and Experience:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, fashion, or a related field is typically required.
- Experience: Previous experience in buying, merchandising, retail, or a related field is often required, with a solid understanding of product sourcing, stock management, and sales analysis.
Physical Requirements
Must occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
Benefits
Hourly Wage- $25 – $27 depending on experience.
