SUMMARY
The Tennis Pro Shop Retail Assistant supports all staff in delivering an exceptional tennis/pickleball experience and works closely with the Retail Manager to achieve the Tennis Shop’s merchandising goals. Key responsibilities include maintaining high merchandise display standards throughout the Tennis Shop and assisting with monthly inventory. This role also provides outstanding Member service by handling phone calls, emails, court bookings, and other requests as needed. The ideal candidate embraces a mindset of continuous improvement and stays informed about new products and market trends. The tennis Pro Shop Retail Assistant reports directly to the Retail Manager and collaborates with the tennis operations staff and other supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Assist in all areas of the tennis shop operation to ensure expectations standards are consistently met.
• Provide Members and guests with exceptional retail experience
• Assist with daily inventory management by monitoring stock levels, communicating re￾ordering needs, and tracking the “core” items.
• Support daily retail operations including court booking assistance, answering phone calls, and maintaining the Tennis Shop sales floor.
• Efficiently operate the POS system and process transactions
• Assist the Retail Manager with receiving, unpacking, tagging, organizing, and storing products.
• Participate in monthly inventory counts

QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a caring attitude.
• Exhibits a passion for retail with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
• Strong interest in tennis/athleisure fashion and retail trends.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
• Flexibility when scheduling, including availability to work weekends and holidays.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least three years of sales background with merchandise and soft goods. Computer knowledge of Point of Sale and Microsoft Office Programs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
