The Club at Holliday Farms is in Zionsville, Indiana; a beautiful, quaint town within 30 minutes of downtown Indianapolis.  Holliday Farms is a private club with a new 80,000 sq ft clubhouse with amenities that include three dining options, a spacious ballroom, bowling alley, indoor basketball, state of the art fitness facilities, indoor/outdoor pools, and outdoor tennis/pickleball facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Embrace and model the mission and values of Holliday Farms and the Golf Operation
  • Understand interests and buying tendencies of customer base for both golf and tennis/pickleball apparel
  • Assemble periodic sales and profitability analysis by brand to enable data-driven B2B purchases
  • Identify and execute sales strategies/events to maximize net sales and absolute profitability
  • Promote Golf Shop events/sales on relevant social media
  • Assume lead role in hard good, soft good, and accessory purchasing
  • Confirm all (good) receipts reconcile with vendor invoices
  • Assume the lead role in being qualified to purchase new brands
  • Enter new goods receipts into the inventory system within 48 hours of receipt and determine the appropriate selling price.
  • Meet goals related to sales, profitability, inventory turns, and EOY inventory levels and generate formal, monthly reports on progress toward goal
  • Develop knowledge base of shop inventory to enable suggestive selling of merchandise
  • Train shop personnel on brand/category background and suggestive selling techniques
  • Optimize the aesthetic of the Golf Shop and the rotation of inventory to maintain fresh appearance of inventory
  • Explore potential for lowering COGS by potentially partnering with other sites under the same ownership for greater purchasing power
  • Where required, comply with contractual requirements that can be imposed by selected vendors
  • Serve as the lead in orchestrating periodic inventory on hand audits and reconcile, as necessary
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable to ensure vendor obligations are satisfied per agreed terms
  • Maintain inventory stock room in a neat/organized manner

Desired Qualifications:

  • Degree or certificate from an accredited institution and/or three years related experience in a retail environment
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills
  • Comfortable in assembling/analyzing sales spreadsheets
  • Comfortable in assembling inviting merchandise sales/general info and posting it on social media
  • Passion for operational excellence
  • Knowledge of and true interest in the game of golf is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to lift merchandize weighing up to 30 pounds
