Walking the floor at MAGIC Las Vegas, there was no shortage of inspiration. From lace and playful prints to unexpected silhouettes, whimsical pops of color and creative layering, women’s fashion is giving consumers more ways to bring personality into what they wear. For golf retail, that creates an exciting opportunity.

Not every trend needs to translate exactly as it appeared on the show floor. Instead, the fun is in looking at what’s happening across women’s fashion and imagining how those details could inspire apparel, accessories and merchandising in the golf shop.

Here are the trends that caught our attention at MAGIC and had us thinking about what could be next for women’s golf retail.

Lace Leads the Way

If there was one detail that was difficult to miss at MAGIC, it was lace. Lace appeared across apparel in ways that felt feminine, elevated and fresh. While some looks leaned heavily into the trend, it was the smaller details that really had us thinking about its potential for golf.

Imagine a delicate lace-inspired detail along a sleeve, a refined neckline or subtle trim incorporated into an otherwise classic golf silhouette. It could bring softness and texture to a polo, dress or lifestyle piece while maintaining the polished look golf customers know and love.

For golf retailers, lace could also offer a way to introduce something new without completely changing an assortment. A familiar silhouette with one beautiful detail can be enough to make a customer stop and take another look.

We also spotted some floral quilting throughout the floor, particularly on layering pieces. While it wasn’t as prominent as lace, the added texture was another reminder of how much interest can come from the fabric and construction of a garment, not just its print or color.

Prints Are Getting Playful

Polka dots had a major presence at MAGIC.

Alongside them, we noticed paisley, a resurgence of animal print and plenty of pattern mixing. Polka dots paired with stripes were one combination that especially caught our attention.

That playful approach to print feels like a natural fit for golf, where pattern has long been a way to bring personality onto the course.

Another fun crossover was the number of animals appearing directly on sweaters. Mallard ducks popped up more than once, and it immediately reminded us of something golf already does particularly well.

The classic bear sweater has become a familiar sight in golf and club retail, bringing a playful motif to an otherwise polished piece. Seeing similar ideas across MAGIC makes us excited about where that trend could go next. Cute animals, destination-inspired motifs or even something unique to a particular club could all bring personality to a knit while keeping it elevated and wearable.

Color Is Showing Some Personality

Chocolate brown is certainly sticking around. The rich shade continued to show up across MAGIC, alongside creams, tans and the other neutrals that remain an important part of women’s fashion. But the show floor wasn’t entirely neutral.

Blues and butter yellow caught our attention, along with chartreuse green and pops of softer, muted colors that still offered a pop of personality. These shades still brought color into a look, but in a way that felt approachable and easy to style. That balance could work beautifully in the golf shop.

Neutrals can anchor an assortment, while a fresh blue, unexpected chartreuse accent or softer pop of color gives customers another way to make a look their own.

For buyers, it doesn’t necessarily mean choosing between a neutral assortment and a colorful one. There is room for both, especially when color is used as the detail that gives a familiar piece its personality.

Silhouettes Are Taking New Shape

There were also some interesting changes happening with shape and proportion.

Balloon pants were one of the silhouettes we noticed most, bringing volume and movement into women’s bottoms. Oversized and bomber jackets were another standout, along with cowl necklines.

Asymmetry was particularly interesting. We saw pieces with uneven hemlines, including styles that fell longer on one side than the other. It’s a relatively simple design choice, but it can completely change the way a familiar silhouette looks and moves.

That could be an especially fun detail to watch in golf. An asymmetrical hem on a golf dress, skort or lifestyle piece could introduce something unexpected while still keeping the overall look sophisticated.

Bomber jackets also feel full of possibility for golf outerwear, while cowl necklines could bring a new shape to sweaters and cooler-weather layers. Even the volume of balloon pants offers inspiration as women’s fashion continues to experiment with fuller, more relaxed proportions.

Layering Is Part of the Outfit

Layering was everywhere at MAGIC, and it wasn’t simply about adding another piece for warmth. It was part of the look.

Collars peeked out from underneath sweaters. Jackets were styled over multiple pieces. Different textures, prints and lengths were combined to create depth and make the entire outfit feel intentional.

Golf is already made for layering, which makes this one especially exciting to bring back to the golf shop. A bomber over a polo. A collar underneath a sweater. A pop of print peeking out beneath a solid layer. Different textures styled together rather than displayed separately.

There is a visual merchandising opportunity here, too. Instead of always showing customers one piece at a time, retailers can use layering to show how several items within the shop can work together and give customers new ideas for pieces they may have otherwise overlooked.

Accessories Bring the Personality

Accessories were another place where individuality really came through at MAGIC, especially through chunky statement jewelry and bag charms.

Bold necklaces and oversized pieces were being used to give even simple outfits more personality. For golf retail, statement jewelry could be an easy way for customers to make a classic dress, polo or neutral look feel more like their own, particularly when moving from the course to the clubhouse and beyond.

Bag charms took personalization in an even more playful direction. With different colors, shapes and motifs, they turn an everyday bag into something more personal. For golf shops, there could be plenty of opportunity for golf-themed, club-specific or destination-inspired charms that connect back to where someone plays or travels.

Crescent-shaped bags and braided belts were also noticeable, reinforcing just how much the finishing touches can shape an entire look.

Bringing MAGIC Back to Golf

What we loved most about walking MAGIC was seeing just how many different directions women’s fashion is moving.

There is room for femininity through lace. There is playfulness through polka dots, animal motifs and mixed prints. There are new shapes to explore through asymmetrical hems, balloon pants and oversized jackets. Color can be subtle or unexpected, and layering and accessories give customers even more opportunities to make a look their own.

For golf retailers, that’s where the inspiration gets exciting.

A trend doesn’t have to be recreated exactly to influence what comes next. Lace could inspire a beautiful sleeve detail. An asymmetrical hem could bring movement to a golf dress. A mallard sweater could inspire the next playful club knit. A chartreuse accent could give a neutral assortment an unexpected spark.

Walking MAGIC gave us a chance to look beyond golf, see what is exciting consumers across women’s fashion and bring those ideas home with a fresh perspective.

And if what we saw in Las Vegas is any indication, there are plenty of ways for women’s golf style to have a little more fun.
