Independent Sales Representative

Donald Ross Sportswear is seeking a motivated and entrepreneurial Independent Sales Representative to drive brand growth across multiple territories. This role is ideal for a self-starter with strong relationships in the golf, resort, and specialty retail markets who can effectively represent a premium apparel brand.

We are actively looking to fill roles in the following areas:

Pacific Northwest, Northern California/Northern Nevada, Ohio, and Minnesota/Dakotas

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage wholesale accounts within the assigned territory, including golf courses, country clubs, resorts, and specialty retailers
  • Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities to expand market presence
  • Present seasonal collections to buyers through in-person meetings, regional trade shows, and virtual meetings (where applicable)
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships through consistent communication and service
  • Meet or exceed seasonal sales targets and performance goals
  • Coordinate order entry, follow-ups, and ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Provide market feedback, including trends, competitor insights, and customer needs
  • Maintain organized records of sales activities, accounts, and pipeline

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in apparel, golf, or specialty retail sales (independent or commissioned sales experience preferred)
  • Established network within the assigned region’s golf and resort market is highly desirable
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a territory
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the region

Compensation:

  • Commission-based compensation structure (12% commission)
  • Opportunity for growth with a premium, established brand – existing business to build upon
     

Additional Information:

  • This is an independent contractor role, not a salaried employee position
  • Representative must have the ability to operate their own business (including travel, scheduling, and expenses)
  • Participation in regional and national trade shows may be required
