SUMMARY:

Pinehurst Resort is seeking a highly-skilled and creative Senior Retail Buyer to help lead the next chapter of our growing Retail business.  Our Retail division spans multiple shops and concepts across the resort, club, golf, lifestyle, and eCommerce channels.  The ideal candidate will bring strong buying, vendor management, and visual merchandising skills, along with golf industry and audience awareness, and a curiosity for product innovation.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5-7 years of buying, merchandising, and management experience
  • Experience in golf, resort, or club Retail preferred
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships and seasonal buying calendars
  • Strong understanding of Retail metrics including margin, sell-through, inventory turns, and category performance
  • Strong visual merchandising ability
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • A passion for golf, hospitality, and guest experiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Work with the Director of Retail on vendor direction and budgets for all Pinehurst Golf Retail Departments.
  • Oversee buying for apparel, headwear and accessories for all golf shops.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels in above categories.
  • Work with Director of Retail on vendor partnerships.
  • Attend vendor meetings and shows to conduct business.
  • Responsible for purchasing of seasonal uniforms for the retail and golf teams.
  • Oversee the visual merchandising team for all golf shops.
  • Conduct Inventory counts in the Main Golf Shop, as well as assist in other locations as warranted.
  • Work as Retail Manager on Duty on scheduled days.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This role will focus on the procurement of all retail product categories, including apparel, accessories, hard and soft goods, and any other necessary categories.  This role will have at least 2 and up to 4 direct reports. This role will coordinate with the Retail Merchandising Manager on delivery and display of product, and  oversee shop flips for events. This role will work with current and new retail vendors on custom product (SMU), and also assist with future logo development. This role will also serve as a mentor to our buying and merchandising team, specifically current and future assistant buyers.

Hiring Min Rate: 80,000 USD
Hiring Max Rate: 90,000 USD
