AAGGG: Angus and Grace are actually my two dogs! I wanted the name to feel a little playful and not take itself too seriously. Golf can sometimes feel quite traditional, so having something lighthearted felt right. At the same time, the brand is still very considered in the way we design and produce pieces, so the name reflects that balance of fun and thoughtful design.
AGM: How did your Australian roots influence the tone, attitude, or aesthetic of the brand?
AAGGG: I think it shows in the simplicity of the pieces. Beautiful garments that are not overly “golfy”, and that feel just as natural off the course as they do on it. In Australia especially, with the climate and the lifestyle, people want things that are comfortable, versatile, and easy to wear. That really shapes the tone of what we create.
AGM: How does your background in high-end tailoring influence the fit and feel of the collection?
AAGGG: Fit is incredibly important to us. We aim to create pieces that feel considered but effortless. The collections are designed so that everything works together, but also so that someone can pick up a single item and know it will work with pieces they already have in their wardrobe. Neutral but impactful is always the goal.
AGM: What are the non-negotiable quality or performance features found in every AAGGG garment?
AAGGG: A beautiful fit is always the starting point. Beyond that, everything needs to be functional, comfortable, and designed to be worn again and again. We want pieces that feel good the moment you put them on and become part of your regular rotation, not something that sits in the wardrobe.
AGM: When sourcing materials, how do you balance high-performance quality with ethical manufacturing?
AAGGG: A lot of it comes down to strong relationships with the factories we work with and being very clear about the standards we expect. Because we operate on a made-to-order model, we can work closely with our partners to ensure the materials, construction, and finishing all meet the level our customers are looking for. We also spend a lot of time speaking with clubs to understand what matters most to them, then making sure those details are reflected in the final product.
AGM: What was the inspiration behind the “Golf Daddy” line, and how does it fit into the broader AAGGG family?
AAGGG: It actually started as something fun we did around Father’s Day a few years ago and it took off! It works particularly well on hats, tees, and accessories, and it has become a playful little sub brand within who we are. It is a lighthearted and easy way for our shop to do something different.
AGM: How do you see AAGGG fitting into the evolving culture of golf and modern retail?
AAGGG: Golf retail is changing quickly, and people are looking for merchandise that feels more personal and connected to their club. Our bespoke approach fits really naturally into that shift. Because everything is made to order, clubs have the freedom to create something that genuinely reflects their identity rather than choosing from a catalogue.
AGM: What does your collaborative design process look like for a pro shop wanting a bespoke collection?
AAGGG: A lot of talking and a lot of listening! That is honestly the best part. We love learning about a club’s history, its membership, and the little details that make it unique. From there we start shaping a collection that reflects that story. At the end of the day we are there to bring the club’s ideas to life.
AGM: As an Australian-owned brand with a global reach, how have you streamlined fulfillment and inventory for North American and European shops?
AAGGG: Everything we produce is made to order, so we do not hold large volumes of stock. Instead, we ship directly from our manufacturing partners to the clubs. It keeps the process efficient, reduces double handling, and allows us to stay flexible with the bespoke nature of what we do.
