Crystal-Clear Quality: Inside Sterling Cut Glass

Sterling Cut Glass logo centered among illustrated outlines of various decorative glassware pieces, including vases, trophies, and drinking glasses.

Sterling Cut Glass, a leading provider of high-quality glassware and crystal products, boasts a rich history in the golf industry. With a reputation for exquisite craftsmanship and design, Sterling Cut Glass has become a trusted name among golf retailers and enthusiasts alike. Their dedication to quality and customer satisfaction is evident in every product they create, from stunning trophies to elegant barware.

AGM: Can you share the story behind one of your best-selling golf products?

Five engraved glass golf trophies and awards displayed on a table, including a central black trophy cup mounted on a wooden base.

SCG: We introduced our line of Cased Crystal Trophies to the market 6 years ago. They are beautiful items, handmade in our factories in Europe. During the blowing process, the crystal is infused with heavy color accents which gives the crystal trophy a strong contrast to the clear crystal handles and base of the trophy. The logos are hand etched & painted making the artwork pop off the trophy!

AGM: What’s the process of developing a new product from idea to market?

Collection of engraved golf awards including a glass jar of golf balls, a tall trophy pitcher, a round plaque, and a whiskey decanter.

SCG: Ideas are generated by research and keeping an eye on latest trends. Our design team will meet to discuss new ideas and we assign what we believe is the best factory candidate to pursue each new item with. We start with our sketched drawings and work with the factories to create the actual production CAD. We examine proposed pricing & MOQs and decide to proceed with sampling. Once samples are received the design & sales teams meet to decide whether to add to the product line or keep it in mind for future rollout.

AGM: What sets your golf products apart from competitors?

SCG: Design is what will always set Sterling apart from our competitors. Most of our products represent unique designs that cannot be found in our competitors’ catalogs. In addition to our design advantage, Sterling directly imports 50+ containers/year from our overseas factories, which allows our products to always be in stock and available for immediate purchase.

AGM: What are your upcoming product launches or innovations that golf retailers should look forward to?

Set of engraved whiskey tasting glasses filled with amber whiskey displayed on a wooden board beside a barrel and bottle being poured. SCG: More cutting-edge products including the latest designs from the whiskey and spirit tasting world as well as metallic finishes on barware, gifts & trophies.

AGM: How do you plan to expand your product line or enter new markets?

Four engraved square glass awards labeled “Links Golf Digest,” recognizing championship flight and first flight golf tournament winners.

SCG: In addition to glassware & crystal, we have added new product types such as wood, leather, and metals to our line over the years.  We will always look for innovative products that our customers would enjoy seeing in our catalog and purchasing for their members & events.  Keeping the product line fresh and current on the latest trends is a major focus for our product development team.

AGM: What message would you like to leave with AGM members about your brand and products?

SCG: With Sterling, you can expect exceptional service, quality & value.  Our goal is to make it EASY to work with us and to be part of your successful retail operations.  We know the best way to determine if our products are being sold successfully is through our customers’ re-order patterns!
