Zipelly: Where Family Values Meet Purposeful Golf Apparel

Four men on a golf course are shown shaking hands and smiling near a flagstick in an "AGM Vendor Spotlight" graphic for Zipelly. The men are wearing various performance golf polos and shorts in shades of blue, grey, and patterned white. A large, stylized black and white highland cow logo for Zipelly is centered in the foreground over the group, with the brand name "ZIPELLY" printed below it.

In today’s golf apparel landscape, merchandisers are evaluating more than product. They are evaluating the people behind it. Zipelly was built with that understanding from the start. As a family-owned brand, their focus extends beyond fabric and design to building meaningful relationships with the pro shops and communities they serve. In this Q&A, Zipelly shares the inspiration behind the brand, their approach to supporting pro shop partners, and the products that set them apart.

AGM: What is the “Zipelly” origin story, and where did the name come from?

Zipelly: Zipelly was born from the vision of Sean Zippie, who dreamed of building something meaningful. Combining his passions for golf, fashion, and making an impact in his community and beyond.

Founders Sean Zippie and Daniel Kelly combined their last names to form Zipelly.

AGM: What is the significance behind the Highland Cow logo and “The Herd”?

Zipelly: The Highland cow originated in Scotland, also the home of golf. During a family trip to Scotland in 2024 to attend the British Open and visit St. Andrews, the family met Highland cows up close. Their friendly demeanor and unique look seemed the perfect choice to become Zipelly’s mascot.

If you’re a customer of Zipelly, you’re a part of “The Herd.”

AGM: How does Zipelly approach responsible sourcing or sustainability?

Zipelly: On each Zipelly garment, you’ll find a tag that says ethically made. This is extremely important to our brand. Each garment has been made by a factory that has a WRAP certification (Worldwide Responsibility Accredited Production).

AGM: What part of the design or production process are you most proud of, even if customers never see it?

Zipelly: We dedicate countless hours to refining every detail of each design, ensuring that every collection tells a thoughtfully curated and cohesive story.

AGM: How is Zipelly working to support the next generation of golfers?

Zipelly: We have a passion for kids of all ages who don’t have the opportunity to experience the game of golf. In our hometown is a FREE 9-hole golf course called Dum Dum. We partner with Dum Dum to get kids involved in clinics and lessons.

AGM: What do you prioritize when it comes to fabric selection, fit, and performance in your products?

Zipelly: When someone feels a garment from Zipelly, it stops them dead in their tracks, because it feels so unique. Each garment is true to size, which makes it easy on our green grass partners. Performance is paramount. Yes, golf polos cross over into lifestyle, but our polos are made first and foremost for golf.

AGM: If someone could only buy one item from your current collection, which would it be and why?

Zipelly: The Seersucker Hoodie – It’s so light, unique, and our #1 seller from the PGA show.

AGM: How do you approach the “pro shop partnership” and what does your inventory support look like?

Zipelly: We are a family owned and operated brand that truly treats each pro shop as a part of the Zipelly Family. We are always 1 phone call or email away from fulfilling an order or answering a question. We are EXTREMELY easy to work with.

AGM: What has surprised you most about how golfers have responded to Zipelly so far?

Zipelly: It’s always surprising to see the faces of buyers when they feel the Nylon/Spandex Cooling Fabric. They can’t believe that it’s LITERALLY cool to the touch.

AGM: What message would you like to leave with AGM merchandisers who are considering bringing Zipelly into their shops?

Zipelly: The world doesn’t need another golf apparel brand. However, the world needs more golf apparel brands that truly care about their customers and their community. Our family hopes you’ll consider bringing in our apparel. We would love to serve and welcome you to “The Herd!”
