AGM: What sets your golf products apart from competitors?

JONDO: Our product is not mass produced. We produce our lenses through a casting process, hand cut the lenses, and then hand fit them. This ensures the best quality lenses on the market. 

JONDO is golf-specific – every single frame is designed for performance on the golf course, a balance between weight, grip and design. The lenses use light, which assists the golfer in seeing more clearly and soothes the eyes to minimize fatigue. It amplifies certain colors and blocks out other colors that one does not need in golf. Due to our spectral filtration technology and purposeful lack of polarization, our customers are able to see more clearly without experiencing depth perception issues.

AGM: What materials do you use in your products and why?

JONDO: Our lenses are polycarbonate– a non-polarized substance which allows for light to filtrate in a way that eliminates many depth perception issues that typically occur when wearing sunglasses. The lenses are scratch resistant and slightly thicker to ensure maximum durability and eye safety if an object hits the lens. No film or coating is used, allowing a higher quality, crystal-clear visual experience.

AGM: How do you incorporate technology and innovation in your golf products?

JONDO: Our KRISP lens technology with advanced spectral filtration is an industry leading technology created by optometrists with the golfer in mind.

AGM: Can you discuss a challenge unique to the sunglasses market?

JONDO: The biggest challenge currently in the market is that sunglasses generally don’t sell too well or that the sell through is slow. This is the consensus in the market and unfortunately most buyers think JONDO would just be the same as the others. But the reality with JONDO sunglasses is that they really sell well. 

We have a selling method we encourage our wholesalers to do – each retailer gets two free demo units. These demo units must go out daily with members and guests – we never try to sell our product; we give the consumer the best visual experience that they can buy and that’s available. With this method, our glasses sell and in certain golf markets outperform the competition 4-fold!

AGM: Can you give insights into your product testing and quality assurance processes?

JONDO: Our crafting process is done by humans, with each lens getting hand cut and fitted. No mass production – hence the best quality control and assurance. Our lenses are FDA approved and passed the ‘Drop ball’ testing method.

AGM: How do you tailor your offerings for high-end golf retailers versus budget-friendly stores?

JONDO: JONDO sunglasses are an investment for the avid golfer who is seeking both performance and eye health care. Our market is definitely the high-end golfer. Our offering to retailers starts with a small buy-in or investment of only 12 units, and a buy back guarantee.

AGM: What customization options do you offer?

JONDO: We offer special branding opportunities for golfing events on the frames – making exclusive and one-of-a-kind pairs of glasses. We also offer prescription options.

AGM: Can you share a success story of a retailer with your products?

JONDO: One of our clubs has sold 18 units in its first 4 months of stocking our brand. The retailer said that they also carry two other brands but have not sold even one unit of the other brands. While we are very proud of this, it’s more important to us that the retailer has given the members and visitors a product that will improve their game and assist in making golf even more enjoyable.

AGM: How do you support golf retailers in marketing and selling your products?

JONDO: Each retailer gets two demo units for free. These must be used to hand out to golfers to try before they buy – a huge key to our success in sell-through. Educational materials on the product are provided to retailers.

JONDO also invests in PR strategies and online marketing which point potential customers to retailers. Influencers and Golf Professionals assist in our brand awareness as well.

AGM: What message would you like to leave with AGM members about your brand and products?

JONDO: JONDO is new, fresh, and based on golf performance. When members and guests understand the many advantages of JONDO, they will never want to wear another brand of sunglasses on the golf course!
